The Birthday Boy

Sweet, sweet Huttie, you are something! You are a child of many names. We mostly refer to you as “Huttie”, but at times you are “Huttie Cat”, “Deanie”, “Brobrie”, and almost always “Houdeanzer” to your sister.

We’ve said it plenty of times, but it’s true, you are all boy. It seems that you were born with the ability to roll cars and trucks, throw toys, climb stairs at full speed, and make silly noises. It’s pretty apparent that you got a double dose of the “bang it and drive mama crazy gene”. If you’re not banging your hands on your chest, your banging two (very loud) toys together. There is rarely a quiet moment with you in the house.

At a year old, you say “dada“, “bye bye“, “hey“, “dog” and “my mama“. You pull up on most anything and can stand on your own for a few seconds at a time. I wouldn’t be surprised if you started walking today or if you waited until you were 15 months old, like your sister. You continue to love to waive and will waive your hand off to get a smile from a stranger.

While you love just about anybody that is willing to hold you, it’s hard to ignore your bond with your daddy. You rarely leave your daddy’s side (or arms) when he is home. Much like your sister and I, he is completely smitten with you.

Sweet Hutson, you are growing so fast! I pray that you will have your daddy’s patience and his desire to go through life with integrity. I pray that you will grow in Christ and that you will always lean on God and your family in times of need. Happy birthday sweet Hutson. We love you!

At 12 months old, you weigh a little over 22 pounds (45%) and are 30 1/4 inches tall (65%). You drink three sippy cups of whole milk a day and eat table foods. We are still working towards breaking you of your morning nap. Most days, you awake around 8. Your bedtime is usually between 7 and 7:30. Your favorite foods are spaghetti, yogurt, Ritz crackers, and rice and eggs.
