After three years in front of the camera, MR is a seasoned veteran. She loves coming up with new poses and props for her pictures. Pink and purple remain her favorite colors. One of the biggest differences I’ve noticed about MR in the last few months is how much she is enjoying her role as “big sister”. Pretty sure she would tote her little brother from room to room if we would allow. I am so thankful for my sweet girl! She is my constant; my buddy; my hugger; and my reminder to grab my purse, cell phone, and lipstick before leaving the house.

While Huttie is not as amused with his mamas appliqueing hobby, he does his best to comply. Especially if m&m’s and marshmallows are present.

Regardless of what others think, I’m convinced that Hutson is all Harrell. He even holds his tongue like the Harrell boys. He is also 100% boy!!! Into everything; runs nonstop; and tackles just about any and everything in his way. He is one busy little boy. Much like his sister at 2, he is starting to outgrow his afternoon naps. He continues to live in the world of dinosaur roars; choo choos; airplanes; Cars the movie; and Barney. He’s tall (80% for his height) and skinny (20% for his weight). Per doctors orders, we’re doing our best to put some meat on his bones, which means we can credit Huttie for our 2 day a week addiction to Chick-fil-A.

MR came up a rule around here a few weeks ago….mandatory afternoon fun….the playset and sandbox continue to be the best investment we have made for our home. These two sure have put some miles on the ole swingset this spring!

Much of the dress up frenzy was in anticipation of a 4-night stay at “Camp Grandparents” in Athens.  The trip marked Hutson’s first overnight stay away from home. MR must have told him a dozen times, “Mama is fun, but Gran C’s even better. She lets us have marshmallows for breakfast”! From Wednesday evening to Sunday morning, the kids got in some time with Gran C and Big Daddy, while G and I acted like celebrities. We had friends over for dinner on Thursday night (stayed up way too late), went to a downtown concert on the square with friends on Friday (stayed up way too late again), and purchased a new “family” car on Saturday with more gadgets than I will ever figure out.

By Sunday afternoon, our celebrity status had come to an end. As soon as the kids returned home, it was more or less the same…piles of dressup clothes scattered around the house, a naked (drooly) baby, lots of noise, dirty diapers, laundry, and sweet hugs and kisses from the kids that make my world go round.

Much to G’s dismay, we’ve named the new car “Cinderella”. Sometimes we call her “Cindy” for short. Coming from an 11 year old Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cindy is a breath of fresh air. She has air conditioned seats, programmable buttons for our garage doors, blue tooth capability, a remote starter, DVD player, back up camera, fold in mirrors, and lots of chrome. She’s pretty. And comfortable. And its a good thing I like her so much becuase I will probably drive her for the next 15 years…

On a completely random note, Hutson has become the newest (unpaid and overworked) Petey Pie’s model. With back to school and the holidays approaching, Petey Pie’s is back in full swing! The next few days are jam packed with activity; G returns late Friday night. On Saturday, we’re off to Griffin to celebrate a birthday; later that night, Gran C and Big Daddy return to watch the kids so G and I can go out and celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. On Sunday, G and Big Daddy are going to Turner Field to cheer on the Braves. And on Sunday night, we’re planning to eat hamburgers and hotdogs with our supper club. Until then, I’m up to my knees withPetey Pie orders. Ive got two days to get 22 shirts done. Hoping and prayaing  that the Little Man will cooperate. He’s still eating A LOT; usually every 2-3 hours. And still loves to be held. And despite having very little time for myself , I still love every ounce of him!

I stayed up extra late on Saturday night to make a dress for MR’s first day of school. When she awoke the next morning, I asked her what she thought of it. She frowned and replied, “that’s not good mama. I wanted a dress with a banana”. 

We’ve never had a baby in the family with this much hair, so it was hard for me to get on to G for styling Huston’s hair in a mohawk after a bath. The look didn’t last long; after a few pictures, I promptly brushed it down and returned it to the classic sweep over.

At 22 weeks, I officially look like a linebacker. With big boobs. Hoping to become brave enough to post a pregnancy picture soon.

Spring is here. Well almost. We’ve had a couple of days of great weather and have loved every second of it.

We’ve taken on a few projects to get ready for the new house. G dusted off the skill saw and I have embraced the role as pregnant, project manager. I’m a big fan of the arrangement.

Our old white rocking chairs got a fresh coat of black spray paint to match the new front porch. Black buffalo-checked fabric pillows were also added to make the chairs pop.

I convinced G to turn our old wood filing cabinet into a reading cubby for the playroom. I’ll post more pics as soon as its complete.

March has proven to be another busy month for Petey Pie’s. My sewing machine has taken permanent refuge on the dining room table, alongside a bag of Doritos and a box of Little Debbies.
