When we moved to Marietta, we had no idea how much we would love the area. We chose it for the schools, but know that there was a greater reason for our decision. God placed us here to show us the good life…a wonderful church, a strong network of Christian friends, and a quaint suburban town that is big on community and small on traffic. After six moves in seven years, we knew that we would call Marietta “home”. We’ll raise kids; set roots; and form life long friendships in this sweet little southern town…

This sweet little town gets even sweeter in the summer with the return of the Glover Park concert series. The kids have just as much fun as the adults do…

And just when you think there’s no more fun to be had…the mayor shows up with ice cream! God love this sweet, special town that we call home!

The ice cream truck man

He’s made the prayer list on more than one occasion….he’s the “ice cream truck man” and he doesn’t come around near enough for my crew. But when he does, his music can be heard from miles; squeals of delight come from every corner; and the promise of, “If you buy me an ice cream, I’ll do this…” is heard from neighborhood kids. With sticky hands and bellies, it ain’t summer til the ice cream truck man makes his rounds….

Hunting eggs at church

MR couldn’t believe that the Easter Bunny hopped all the way to our church to hide hundreds of eggs. “His legs must get real tired”, she said. She wondered why “God didn’t invent a sleigh” for him….or why Santa wouldn’t let the good bunny borrow his reindeer and sleigh….
